BJ Johnston as John Wesley  

After serving 13 years as missionaries with Youth With a Mission (YWAM), BJ and his family moved from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, where he served as the Director for the College of the Arts at the UNIVERSITY OF THE NATIONS. They arrive in Jackson, Mississippi January of 2003 where he ministered at Belhaven College as Director of Development for the Arts, Annual Fund

Director and Assistant to the Vice President of Advancement. He has appeared in more than 50 theatre productions throughout America and is now performing THE MAN FROM ALDERSGATE, compiled from the actual journals of John Wesley by playwright Brad L. Smith.

BJ & Karen met while touring across America with a Christian Singing Group, THE REGENERATION. They have two sons, Ryan (23) (who lives in West Hollywood, CA with his band GOODBYE ELLIOT), and Daniel (18) (a music/composition major at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS).

After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting and dance from Stephen’s College and a Master’s degree in theatre education from Scarritt College, BJ performed several thousand one-man shows at Six Flags Over Georgia and in hundreds of schools utilizing mime, magic, music stories, and dance.

Other arts training includes studies at the Wisconsin Mime School and dance training at the Cambridge School of Ballet. He studied opera and vocal performance at Boston University.
